Rich Kids – How to Raise Our Children to be Happy and Successful in Life has received the prestigious Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Award in the How-To/Inspirational category. Writer’s Digest is the industry trade magazine for writers and is considered the bible among professional writers. It is, therefore, among the most prestigious book awards an author can receive in the book publishing industry. Below is the official announcement from Writer’s Digest:

23rd Annual Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book Award

Entry Title Rich Kids – How to Raise Our Children to be Happy and Successful

Judge Number: 38

Entry Category: Inspirational

Books are evaluated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 meaning “needs improvement” and 5 meaning “outstanding”. Our system only recognizes numerals during this portion of logging evaluations. As a result, a “0” is used in place of “N/A” when the particular portion of the evaluation simply does not apply to the particular entry, based on the entry genre. For example, a book of poetry or a how to manual, would not necessarily have a “Plot and Story Appeal and may therefore receive a “0”.

Structure, Organization, and Pacing: 5

Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar: 5

Production Quality and Cover Design: 5

Plot and Story Appeal: 0

Character Appeal and Development: 0

Voice and Writing Style: 5

Excerpts From Judge’s Commentary*:

Corley’s winning strategies in every field make absolute sense and have been underlined by other wealthy people in the USA. Not going into debt, not living beyond one’s means and saving are all sound strategies. I loved reading about the dangers of the fears that hold us back and the need to develop daily habits. Corley also talks about the personality of rich people—the etiquette and relationships of successful people are notably different than those of unsuccessful people. Readers will be drawn to Corley’s good organization as well as his formatting skills and lists. The lists are easy to read and persuasive. I personally think this book should be implemented into the U.S. school system at an appropriate level, perhaps college or high school, to strengthen our economy and social fabric!
