Richard Wiseman, a professor at the University of Hertfordshire who holds Britain’s Chair in the Public Understanding of Psychology identified the “four principles of luck.” The principles include maximizing your chance opportunities, listening to your lucky hunches, expecting good fortune, and turning bad luck into good.

79% of poor people believe wealth comes from random good luck. 87% of the wealthy believe random good luck has nothing to do with creating wealth. The wealthy believe they create a different type of luck called opportunity luck. This is a type of luck that is the byproduct of doing certain things every day which create opportunities. These certain things are having good daily success habits.
