Habits Can Change Your DNA For Better or For Worse

Did you know that our daily habits can turn genes on or off? It’s known as gene expression or epigentcis. Gene expression is a process in which certain genes are turned on or off during one’s lifetime. The human body contains approximately 100 trillion cells. Within each cell is the nucleus. Inside every nucleus of every cell are our genes. Experts estimate that the average human has over 20,000 genes. Some of these genes came from our mothers and some from our fathers.

Are Your Best Friends Making You Poor?

In my five-year study of the daily habits of the rich and poor (Rich Habits Study – Background on Methodology) I discovered that there are two extreme types of relationships: Helpful Relationships and Toxic Relationships. Helpful Relationships help lift you up in life, are always happy, optimistic, grateful, enthusiastic, open-minded, life-long learner-types who help elevate your chances for success. Don’t Wear Your Watch Today

Want to get a good feel for how powerful our habits are? Here’s a very simple experiment I’d like you to try. If you wear a watch, take your watch off for just one day. Then keep a tally of how many times you glance at your wrist during the day, only to realize you aren’t wearing your watch. This little experiment will give you an idea how powerful habits are and how often we engage in habits on a daily  basis. I’d like to hear from you how many times you glanced at your naked wrist.

Only 7% Actually Love Their Job

In my five year study of the daily habits of the rich and poor one statistic that I found very interesting related to job satisfaction. 86% of the wealthy indicated that they liked their job, while 7% indicated that they loved their job. How about the poor? 97% of the poor indicated that they did not like their job and 58% indicated that they hated their job. [Read more…]
