Successful people seem to be obsessed with success quotes. They love to throw them around wherever and whenever they can. Successful speakers love to use quotes as do successful authors. Success and quotes go together like beer and pretzels. So, I thought I’d share some of the quotes I’ve accumulated from interviewing self-made millionaires, from some of my favorite books/blogs and from some of the best speakers I’ve come in contact with. I haven’t taken the time to uncover the original source of some of these quotes. If you do know the authors shoot me an email. Here’s some of my favorites:
Everything You’ve Been Led to Believe About the Rich is a Myth
Back in 2004, when I began my research to find out why the rich were rich and why the poor were poor, I’ll confess, I hated rich people. I had some entrenched negative beliefs about the wealthy that I inherited from my upbringing. As I uncovered more and more about the causes of wealth and poverty, however, my hatred of rich people began to fade. When I finally completed my research in 2009, this hatred had transformed into admiration. Almost everything I had been led to believe about the wealthy was a myth. I thought I’d share some of those revelations with you and dispel the myths I embraced for much of my adult life. Let’s begin. [Read more…]
How Successful People Clone Their Way to Success
When most people think of mentoring, they invariable view it as one-sided: an apprentice learning from the master. But there’s a lot more to mentoring than that.
68% of the millionaires in my study mentored others. Why? Were they just paying it forward and giving back? I discovered from my research that it’s not one-sided. The truth is, mentoring is a very selfish act. [Read more…]
What I’m Grateful For – My Annual Birthday Gratitude List
So many things go wrong in life and we can easily get lost in thought, focusing on nothing but what’s not right with our lives. So, I thought, wouldn’t it be nice if at least once a year, on your birthday, you focused instead on what went right. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do. This is Tom Corley’s annual happy birthday gratitude list: [Read more…]
Habits That Will Make Your Child Rich or Poor
40% or more of our daily activities, thinking and the choices we make are habits (Duke study 2006). Most of the habits we take with us into our adults lives, we learned from our parents, our teachers or our environment. This is a good thing if kids are learning good success habits, what I call Rich Habits, but this is a very bad thing if kids are learning bad failure habits, what I call Poor Habits. Unfortunately, most kids are not being taught good habits at home. Worse, our schools are not stepping up to the plate to teach in school what is not being taught at home. [Read more…]
233 Self-Made Millionaires Reveal Their Secrets
When I finished my five-year study on the daily habits of 233 self-made millionaires, I made a breakthrough discovery. Nearly every one of the millionaires attributed their success in life to habits they learned primarily from their parents or some mentor in life. The secret to success is our daily habits! I thought this was a secret that needed to be shared with everyone so I began writing books about these habits. As of this post, I’ve written two books (Rich Habits and Rich Kids: http://richhabits.net/rich-habits-books/) sharing these secret habits. To date, I’ve identified over 300 of these Rich Habits. That’s what I call them. If you haven’t read my books yet, let me share with you a few of these secret Rich Habits: [Read more…]
What If You Could Silence the Voice of Fear and Doubt Forever?
Most of us are completely unaware of our thoughts. If you stop to listen to your thoughts, to be aware of them, you’d find most of them are negative. But you only realize you are having these negative thoughts when you force yourself to be aware of them. Awareness is the key. The new age term for this is mindfulness.
Physiologically, these negative thoughts, the voice inside our heads, emanates from an area of the brain called the [Read more…]

Dr. Ben Carson – Living Proof Big Government Not the Solution to Inner City Chaos
There are many inner cities in America where hopelessness runs rampant. The inhabitants see themselves as victims, manipulated by certain members of society: the rich, the police, government, big business, the law etc. They view themselves as hopelessly poor and abandoned. When you become hopeless, than the laws under which you live no longer have meaning. Society becomes “the man” against whom you must wage war. When you see civil unrest in the inner cities, what you are really seeing is an abandonment of the concept of individual responsibility for your life, en masse. In this civil unrest, you are seeing an inner city manifestation of a belief of hoplessness that is fertilized within each household. [Read more…]
In Search of Yang – An Entrepreneur’s Guide to Finding Apostles for Their Cause
Steve Jobs had Steve Wozniak. Bill Gates had Paul Allen. Warren Buffet had Charlie Munger. Jack Canfield had Mark Victor Hansen. Self-made millionaires don’t get there on their own. The greatest wealth accumulation occurs through the pursuit and realization of a dream. And almost 100% of the time it requires a team effort. [Read more…]
